What is FCI?
(Food Corporation of India FCI) is a public sector undertaking under the Department of Fertilizers and Public Distribution of the Ministry of Fertilizers and Public Distribution.
FCI is an apex body, which was established in the year 1965 under the Food Corporation of India Act 1964.This body was established due to severe food shortages, especially wheat, in the country.
Along with this, the Commission for Agriculture Cost and Price (CACP) was also formed in 1965 to recommend remunerative prices for the farmers.
What is the work of FCI?
Farmer > Central Food Corporation of India >State Government > fare price shop > beneficiary
